近日，被網(wǎng)友稱之為“韋神”的北京大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院助理教授、研究員韋東奕開通個(gè)人社交賬號并發(fā)布一段介紹自己的短視頻，引發(fā)網(wǎng)民關(guān)注（）。截至9日，韋東奕賬號粉絲量已突破2300萬。

Wei Dongyi, the 33-year-old Peking University mathematics researcher and assistant professor, has drawn massive public attention after opening a personal social media account and posting an introductory video. As of Monday, Wei's follower count has surged past 23 million.

The introductory video has prompted widespread concern among viewers regarding Wei's visible dental issues and overall health.

北京大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院、北京國際數(shù)學(xué)研究中心有關(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人9日表示，希望和網(wǎng)友共同保護(hù)好學(xué)者專心治學(xué)的寧靜環(huán)境，讓韋東奕老師能心無旁騖地投入教學(xué)科研工作中。

此次韋東奕發(fā)布的視頻展現(xiàn)出的狀態(tài)讓許多網(wǎng)民對其身體健康擔(dān)憂，呼吁北大關(guān)注教師健康，尤其是視頻中可見其部分牙齒脫落（）。北京大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院有關(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人介紹，韋東奕有比較嚴(yán)重的牙周問題。最近3年來，韋東奕每年都會參加學(xué)校組織的體檢，醫(yī)生建議其關(guān)注口腔健康，其他體檢結(jié)果正常。對韋東奕口腔健康情況，學(xué)校和學(xué)院一直都非常關(guān)心，此前多次派人陪同韋老師到醫(yī)院就診。醫(yī)生進(jìn)行過會診，并提出了治療方案。下一步，學(xué)院和中心還將幫助他積極進(jìn)行治療。

北大表示，感謝公眾對韋東奕的關(guān)心，學(xué)校在尊重他本人的意愿和生活習(xí)慣的基礎(chǔ)上，在工作、生活、醫(yī)療等方面都給予了充分關(guān)心，也有相應(yīng)的安排保障。

Officials from Peking University's School of Mathematical Sciences and the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research responded to netizens' concerns on Monday. They urged the public to "help protect the peaceful environment scholars need to focus on their academic work", emphasizing the importance of allowing Wei to devote himself "wholeheartedly to teaching and research without distraction".

Addressing the specific health concerns raised by netizens who noted apparent tooth loss in the video, university officials confirmed Wei suffers from "relatively severe periodontal problems". They clarified that Wei has undergone annual university-organized physical examinations for the past three years.

"While doctors have advised him to pay attention to his oral health, other physical examination results have been normal," according to the response. "Both the university and the School of Mathematical Sciences have consistently shown concern for Wei Dongyi's oral health. Personnel have accompanied Professor Wei to hospital appointments on multiple occasions previously, where doctors conducted consultations and proposed treatment plans."

Officials added that the school and research center will actively assist Wei in receiving further treatment.

Peking University expressed gratitude for the public's concern while assuring that Wei receives "full care and corresponding support arrangements" with regards to his work, daily life, and medical needs, which are "based on respect for his personal wishes and habits".

33歲的韋東奕現(xiàn)為北京大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院助理教授、研究員，他在北大讀書畢業(yè)留校后，一直從事數(shù)學(xué)方面的研究與教學(xué)。記者從北大了解到，韋東奕具有較強(qiáng)數(shù)學(xué)分析和計(jì)算能力，主要研究領(lǐng)域是偏微分方程、幾何分析等，此前已在國際數(shù)學(xué)期刊發(fā)表多篇論文，被評價(jià)為“富有潛力的青年學(xué)者”。
