印度航空公司12日發表聲明說，該公司一架飛往英國的客機當天發生事故，目前正在確認相關信息。
聲明說：“今天（2025年6月12日），執飛從（印度古吉拉特邦）艾哈邁達巴德機場飛往倫敦蓋特威克機場的AI171航班發生事故。目前，我們正在確認詳細信息。”
印度亞洲新聞國際通訊社援引警方消息報道說，機上載有242名乘客。
另據印度媒體報道，客機型號為波音787，墜毀在古吉拉特邦一個居民區附近，傷亡情況不明。目前，通往該居民區的所有道路均已關閉。
An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad.
The aircraft, bound for London, plunged into the Meghani area of the city, sending up a massive plume of black smoke and triggering an immediate emergency response.
There were 242 people on board the aircraft — 230 passengers, 2 pilots, and 10 cabin crewmembers.
